Do your best to come to me soon, for Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica; Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful in my ministry. I have sent Tychicus to Ephesus. When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, also the books, and above all the parchments.  Alexander the coppersmith did me great harm; the Lord will pay him back for his deeds.  You so must beware of him, for he strongly opposed our message.  At my first defence no one came to my support, but all deserted me. May it not be counted against them!  But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. X Glory to you, Lord Jesus Christ

 After this the Lord appointed seventy others and sent them on ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself intended to go. He said to them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.  Go on your way. See, I am sending you out like lambs into the midst of wolves.  Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and greet no one on the road. Whatever house you enter, first say, “Peace to this house!”  And if anyone is there who shares in peace, your peace will rest on that person; but if not, it will return to you.  Remain in the same house, eating and drinking whatever they provide, for the labourer deserves to be paid. Thank you to all who came and helped set up for the Wardens Indian Dinner yesterday morning and cleaned up last night.  The night was a great success thanks to the Reddy Family, their relatives/friends and to all of you who came along and joined in the fun.
The flowers in church today are given by Ann Petersen in loving memory of her late husband, Peter Petersen and by Beth Armstrong in loving memory of her mother, Ruth Arthur.
Stephen Thomas is looking for shared accommodation, or a room in which to lodge while he considers his vocation to serve with the Franciscans.  If you have a room or know of anyone who has, or you see one advertised within Enmore or the nearby precinct, please let Stephen know - mobile is 0473 164 017 and Stephen has references.
The Christmas Market Facebook is now up and running, so take a look and share it with your friends.  We’d like as many “hits” as possible!  This is non-cost advertising and we need to take advantage of it.  The posters and flyers will be available soon for you to share with your neighbours, family and friends.  Please make it known to all you meet and help towards the Market’s success.  We are looking for helpers, bakers and raffle ticket sellers!  If our bakers would like to get cheap eggs and flour, please put your names on the list in the hall.  Kathy Drummond can get 20 eggs for $6.50 and plain (Manildra Baker’s flour) 5 kg for around $6.00.
Our Big Christmas Hamper Guessing Competition – we will have a box in the church foyer for your contributions to the Christmas Hamper! Anything from a packet of crackers to a bottle of wine would be great.
Our Carpark – please do not park other than in a line marked space.  It inconveniences others and causes unnecessary conflict.  Please drop off your passengers in the driveway and park in the Edgeware Road Carpark (get your ticket and display) or in the Cypriot Club carpark on Stanmore Road.  We only have 13 car parking spaces and 2 disabled spaces; this means most people need to park elsewhere, especially if you are capable of walking more than 100m.  Please leave parking spaces for those who are elderly and/or disabled.
A New Big Roster is ready today; it would have been emailed but if you want a hard copy please pick one up from the table in the hall foyer.
Toysn’ Tucker – Anglicare – During the month of November we will have boxes in the church foyer to receive your donations of toys and non-perishable food for the Christmas distributions to poor and needy families.  The guidelines are basically, no chocolate or chocolate biscuits as they do not last in the heat and no toys should be reliant on batteries.
The Parish is also registered to help with donations of clothing and food when the flood of refugees arrives in Sydney.  The Archbishop has set up a website where parishes register their name and what help they can give.  More information will be provided later.

Monday 23 November at 7.00 p.m.  – “Tears and Hope” Service at St John’s Darlinghurst. Our ABM Parish Projects for 2015
Al-Ahli Arab Hospital Gaza (PS001LH); this hospital is the oldest hospital in Gaza City and has 80 beds.  It provides medical and health services to patients regardless of ethnicity religion, political affiliation or economic status.  It serves everybody in the community.

Wontulp-Bi-Buya Theological College in Cairns (AU003WB); trains indigenous people for ordained ministry and lay-ministry.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy in Vanuatu VU006EA)

BEQUESTS
We have benefited greatly in the past from bequests left to the parish by parishioners who have included St Luke’s in their will.  Some amounts left to the Parish have been large, some very small; all have been appreciated. The Wardens have elected to retain this capital and generally only use the interest as needed for various projects.  If you would like to think about this and include St Luke’s in your will it is one way of ensuring the ongoing maintenance of this extraordinary parish.
