Sunday 23rd March at 9.30am – Sung Eucharist & Book Launch at St Luke’s Enmore followed by a celebratory morning tea.
This celebration will mark the 65th anniversary of Fr John Bunyan’s priesting on March 20th, 1960 by Bishop Ernest Burgmann of Canberra and Goulburn (and the 75th anniversary of confirmation on April 16th, 1950 by Bishop Charles Venn Pilcher, and the 85th of his 1940 joining St Peter’s Hornsby Sunday School Kindergarten under Miss Sylvia Coburn and Miss Sylvia Cox).
Two books will be launched:
1. Honey From The Stony Rock : 100+ Australian Sonnets — with some earlier sonnets revised and new ones added.
2. Conjubilant With Song: and the getting of wisdom — with 65 of my hymns, revised, some new, and suggested revisions for some others’ hymns !
Signed, numbered copies will be $20 each, all money received from them will go to ABM’s Emergency Appeal for our Diocese of Jerusalem’s Al Alhi Hospital in Gaza, one of its two hospitals, damaged in the war, not receiving aid from the Hamas government.
