NOTICES:
Today: Parish Council meets after morning tea.
SOCIAL DISTANCING: At St Luke’s we can only meet as a congregation on condition that we adhere to social distancing requirements. That means wherever possible keeping at a distance of 1.5m from those not in your household. As a rule of thumb, you are at a distance of 1.5m from another person if you cannot touch each other with an outstretched hand. To help us maintain social distancing, we ask that you observe the following:
1/ Please sit only where you find a green dot. An usher may on occasion guide you to your pew as the green dots become scarce.
2/ At the peace, greet those in your immediate vicinity with folded hands or a nod, and refrain from moving about the church
3/ At communion, wait for the call from an usher before leaving your pew and maintain a single line in the aisle, two paces behind the person in front of you.
4/ At the conclusion of the service, keep moving through the foyer to avoid a build up of people waiting to exit.
5/ At morning tea be mindful of the need to maintain social distancing. The wardens are contemplating additional measures to assist with social distancing at morning tea, which will be communicated in due course.
If you feel unwell with cold or flu-like symptoms, please do not come to church, and we encourage you to make use of the hand sanitiser that is supplied around the church.
Remember Mission Giving: The parish has benefited greatly from members switching to electronic giving. Thank you all again for this. However, with this change, our mission giving may have been neglected. If this is so, you can leave your mission giving at the church in an envelope clearly marked to ABM or other mission agency. The Website giving button also allows us to nominate a donation to ABM as well. In the current circumstances, our mission agencies, like the churches, are in greater need. Please remember to support ABM and our other missions.
Next Week - Sunday School/Children’s Ministry will resume with social distancing and hygiene measures in place. Please come along and join us on Sunday 26th July.
Wednesday Healing Service — has resumed and is observing Covid-19 restrictions re seating and receiving communion. A biblical discussion takes place following morning tea in the hall – all are invited.
Confirmation – Booked in for Sunday 23rd August: Bp Michael Stead will be here for confirmation. Please keep our four Confirmees Alex, Lucy, Nicholas & Nam in your prayers.
Any notices for the service booklet will need to be submitted to the Parish Office email by Wednesday evening at the latest.
Food for our little friends — Thanks for the food scraps which are now not going to landfill and so reducing the production of harmful greenhouse gasses, especially methane. If you would like some worm castings for your garden you can leave a bucket or bag at the rectory with your details. Our little fertilizer factories have been doing a wonderful job and the fruit of their labours is now available.
