NOTICES:
Not receiving emails from Fr Jeff? Each Sunday and Wednesday, an email containing the Sunday Service and then a Wednesday reflection is being sent to everyone on our email list. In some cases parishioners believe they are not receiving them. We have found that in many cases the email has gone to their ‘spam’ or ‘junk’ file. This happens with some email providers. If you haven’t received an email from the parish or Fr Jeff on these days, check those other folders and you will probably find it.

Cinema Paradiso: Vision tells the story of Hildegard von Bingen (born 1098, died 17 September 1179; canonized 10 May 2012), the 12th century Benedictine nun, Christian mystic and composer, venerated in the Catholic and Anglican Communions. She was a Doctor of the Church who was able to transmit her visions to the world. The screening of the film has been postponed to a date to be announced after her Feast Day on 17 September. |
WORDSWORTH & MASKELL PIPE ORGAN RECITAL Sunday, 5 September 2021 at 3pm – Keep and broadcast the date! Well-known to Sydney audiences, St Luke’s is delighted to welcome Heather Moen-Boyd to perform an inaugural recital on the Church’s unique 1883 Wordsworth & Maskell Pipe Organ. From Mozart to Mendelssohn, whose works were performed at the instrument’s 1884 recital, the performance will also include Samuel Barber’s Adagio to mark Yom Kippur and September 11, and pastoral birdsong to herald the coming Spring. RSVP: At present it is unclear whether any pandemic restrictions at the time will permit an audience to be physically present, or if an audience is permitted, the numbers and requirements to ensure the safety of the artist and the audience. A further update will be provided by Friday, 27 August 2021. Expressions of interest to attend: organatenmore@gmail.com |
