Dis­cus­sion on the Parish’s Future, its Mis­sion & Ministry  You are Invited! I really want to hear your ideas about what the par­ish should be doing in the future.  Everything is on the table so come along and have your say.  It would be great to have some ideas in writ­ing before the meet­ing to talk about in table groups. Pos­sible top­ics include: Liturgy – Morn­ing ser­vice and oth­er ser­vices; Oth­er issues about life at Church; Social life; Youth and chil­dren; Chris­ti­an Edu­ca­tion; Mis­sion – loc­al and tra­di­tion­al; and Pas­tor­al Care. Maybe you have oth­er areas to talk about.  The best ideas that emerge from this meet­ing will go for­ward to anoth­er gath­er­ing to con­sider fur­ther and flesh out and then to par­ish lead­er­ship for consideration. Anoth­er Cau­tious Step for­ward — Those home cooked treats that we have enjoyed in pre­vi­ous years at morn­ing tea are now able to return.  After care­fully examin­ing the cur­rent cov­id-19 restric­tions we are now able to be con­fid­ent that provided home cooks observe good hygiene prac­tices, we can enjoy these treats again with safety.  In tak­ing this decision, we must be ser­i­ous about hygiene.

On Wed­nes­days after Euchar­ist and Morn­ing Tea — we will be listen­ing to an audio course entitled The Gos­pel of Mark 101 - How to read and Under­stand the Gos­pel of Action. [The Gos­pel Accord­ing to Mark].

It has been put togeth­er by Ian Box­all, Asso­ci­ate Pro­fess­or of New Test­a­ment, The Cath­ol­ic Uni­ver­sity of Amer­ica, Wash­ing­ton, DC.  This series of talks is very access­ible to any­one inter­ested in going deep­er into the gospel.

I have per­son­ally found it enlight­en­ing and enjoy­able to listen to.  So a warm invit­a­tion to all.  If you have Aud­ible at home, the course is avail­able through that platform.

Syn­op­sis:  Beau­ti­ful but pious sis­ters Mar­tine (Birgitte Fed­er­spiel) and Phil­ippa (Bod­il Kjer) grow to spin­ster­hood under the wrath­ful eye of their strict pas­tor fath­er on the for­bid­ding and des­ol­ate coast of Jut­land, Den­mark, until one day, Phil­ip­pa’s former suit­or sends a Parisi­an refugee named Babette (Stéphane Audran) to serve as the fam­ily cook. Babette’s lav­ish cel­eb­rat­ory ban­quet tempts the fam­ily’s dwind­ling con­greg­a­tion, who abjure such fleshly pleas­ures as fine foods and wines.

Food for our worms – Food scraps (no dairy, cit­rus or meat) can be left in the buck­et provided.  This is part of our Par­ish envir­on­ment­al initiative.

We ask these things through the power­ful name of Jesus.  Amen.
